Holiday Safety & Gratitude: A Message from Our Litigation Team
From our office to your office, home, or family, we hope you enjoyed a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving.
And, soon enough, the December Holidays will be here, and we will bring in the New Year
shortly after. Sometimes it can be difficult to truly remember what the holiday season is about,
in our non-stop, in-your-face, smorgasbord of online deals and sales in this advertisement we
sometimes call a world. As we ensure your two-day delivery and special deals for ourselves,
take a moment to think about those close to you, your family and friends, and those in need or
suffering. Consumerism can drive us to ignore the true spirit of the holiday season.
Instead of being driven by purchases, extravagant plans and outings, and materialism, the holiday
season is a great time for real human connection. We should take time away from our devices,
both literal and figurative, and reach out to those that we love. Call your friends, siblings,
parents, cousins, and that call you have been putting off for a while. Don’t just send a message
on social media; do more to connect.
This is also a time for reflection; what have we accomplished . . . how have we made progress on
our goals . . . what do we need to improve on? Have we been a generous, loving, kind person?
Have we shown gratitude when it is due? No matter what your religious or spiritual connection
to the holidays is, we can all spend time on the aforementioned to help ourselves grow, connect
with our loved ones, and reprioritize the things in our life that really matter.
Celebrate humanity! Change the narrative. This is the time for us to show how much we care
about others. You can do so by even the smallest acts of kindness. In this online world we live
in driven by likes, clicks, and brands, we hope you take some time to truly reflect on the season
and give back without the need for social reassurances. Your kind acts will speak for themselves
and they are about giving, not about you. Your compassion, kindness, caring, and giving don’t
need to be seen, liked, or approved to matter.
Happy Holidays.
